ICEBREAKER 0.5ml

The 0.5 ml Icebreaker is the little brother of the 2 ml Icebreaker and is suitable for any application with smaller sample volumes.

In spite of its small size the 0.5 ml icebreaker is equipped with all core components. Perma Cryo Memory Chip, RFID transponder and in-mold label are fully integrated.

Furthermore the 0.5 ml Icebreaker is optimised for automated processes. Each 0.5 ml Icebreaker vial is bearing the proprietary Perma Cryo Memory Chip. This chip is inseparably integrated in each individual vial and fully functional at ultra-low temperatures down to -196ºC (LN2).

Icebreaker vials are handled just like flash-drives, thus enabling the user to easily store and retrieve sample data, analysis results or documents (such as SOPs), even in frozen state.

The built-in RFID transponder holding an unchangeable, unique bar code enables the cordless identification of each vial at any time. In addition, two in-mold labels coming along with each vial offer the possibility for conventional manual or bar code labelling.

Icebreaker vials protect valuable samples from mixups and store all essential data in a secure and sustainable way directly on the vial.

The storage of electronical SOPs on the memory chip enables a more efficient and secure workflow organisation and documentation. Thus the Icebreaker sets new standards in biobanking. For further information, please contact us.

  • Smart Cryo Vial with a maximum volume of 0.5 ml
  • Perma Cryo Memory Chip
  • RFID transponder
  • In-mold label
  • Optimised for manual and automated handling

Inmold-Label

The two labels are directly melted with the Icebreaker vial preventing them from peeling off under low temperatures. Labelling may be made either manually or automatically (1D, 2D bar code and/or sample ID).

Perma Cryo ® Memory Chip

The Memory Chip enables easy storage and retrieving of sample-relevant data at ultra-low temperatures down to -196ºC. Processes and analysis results may be stored as well as any other data format.

RFID transponder

The integration of low temperature compliant RFID transponders facilitates the cordless identification of each vial at any state of the process. Worldwide unique IDs may be stored unchangeably in the transponder chip.
