In almost every bio lab in the world, there is a nitrogen tank. Cryo conservation of biological material as a basis for medical processes is established for years now. Nevertheless, the currently used procedures do not cope with the growing number of samples and the demands of the future.
Besides the simultaneous handling of large numbers of samples in the low temperature area, new approaches have to be developed for ice-free handling, easy tracking and tracing avoiding any mismatch or loss. Thereby the aim to provide the utmost sample quality by means of reproducibility and documentation of process steps.
Perma Cryo has created a new idea of biobanking. We have developed completely new concepts and technologies melting them to products which will revolutionize the treatment of biological material. Biobanking is deemed to be the basis of future personalized medecine and one of the ideas that will change the world.
More than 9 years of research were necessary to find a memory chip which is even running under ultra-low temperatures down to -196,6ºC . The result is the Perma Cryo Memory Chip, which is so small that we can integrate it in each single vial. And all of a sudden, our samples become “intelligent”.
By the fusion of electronical memory chips with biological samples Perma Cryo is setting new standards in quality insurance and documentation of modern lab and biobank processes. Our target is to optimise quality for samples and workflows.
In the future, each sample is able to bear its own data and to document the correspondent workflows and results. Samples can easily be forwarded and shipped without sending separately a whole record of paper. Temperature curves from the last years may be stored quickly and easily on the sample and can be read out at any time. Furthermore, all samples incorporating Perma Cryo technology can be cross-linked all over the world.
We believe that each new technology is also bearing a bit of magic. We believe in the energy of change. And we believe in the cross-linking of samples, knowledge and people. We want to develop technologies and products which make the work of scientists and physicians all over the world easier and safer. Products which enable the quick and reliable research for new treatment methods and drugs, and possibly facilitate the development of completely new ideas for each single human being.
